Little Hockey Pockey

Is adopted!! D came over with his mother and was planning on taking home Pookie but fell in love with Hockey Pockey instead!! I'm so happy for this little guy that he'll have a forever home and they are absolutely smitten with him. Pookie has someone looking at him soon so I have hope he'll be adopted this week! I just felt so bad separating the 2 although I know they don't know the difference. Hopefully I'll have an update soon on Pookie!

Hockey Pockey & Pookie

So I received a call from H asking if I would be willing to take in 2 10 week old sibling puppies and of course I jumped at the opportunity!! Come on, I'm insane! Well anyway, I just picked up these lovelies and my god, they are GORGEOUS!! Hockey Pockey already has applications in for him! crazy right? Pookie is deaf but that doesn't slow him down one bit. He's amazing. I'll know more in a few days about them but I'm sure they'll be gone by then. But for now, I'll enjoy the adorable puppiness that they are... Now enjoy some pictures

Little Fiona

Well Fiona got adopted by a wonderful woman named L! L was kind enough to come out to me in Locust Valley and fell in love with Fiona right away... I mean how could you not? She is such a sweet little girl! I am just so happy that she got adopted right away, now onto the next foster!

Fiona Apple

Well, her name isn't Fiona Apple but she's just as pretty as she is!! As promised, here are some pictures of Fiona I took over the past 2 days.

We've gotten to know Miss Fiona in the short time that we've had her and she is a dream come true! She is PERFECT walking on a lead (none of my dogs walk like this!) she goes to the bathroom when you take her out (no having to wait around!) and she's just a loving, loving dog. You will have to be a special person to be able to have this little girl in your life. We gave her a bath because she was stinky and her paws were a mess, so I gave her a quick trim. Her body is a perfect length so I didn't want to touch it. I may touch up her face a little but we'll see. She was so dirty, look at the water!!

and look at how skinny she is :( it's so sad. She seems like she's "plumping" up a little so far. so that's a great thing! We're feeding her a lot.

her hips & backbone

We already have a few applications for her which is amazing news. Now, onto meeting these potential adopters and hopefully finding the right furrever home for Fiona since she's such a special little girl <3

It's Been Awhile

I haven't updated this in a while and I do apologize!! Barney was adopted 2 weeks after having him into a loving home! I couldn't be more thrilled with his new owners. They were soooooooooo beyond sweet and cool, it was an insant match! I've kept in touch with E and she said that Barney adjusted into their home in like 2 seconds. They all sleep in the same bed, cuddle in the morning and just love life together. Oh, and his new name is Charlie!! I love happy endings. Here are some pictures that E sent me. I love it!!

I got a "delivery" about a week and a half after, that delivery was Bebe. A 6 year old long haired chihuahua. She was dirty, smelly, and completely out of it. She had just been delivered by the Brooklyn ACC. She was an owner surrender for "health reasons".. her health reasons were ticks. My only understanding is that her owner was poor and couldn't afford proper health care for Bebe. She was very sweet, shy and just needed some TLC. After awhile, she came out of her shell and unfortunately, my dogs didn't like the real Bebe. She wasn't a good match but we did manage to stick by her for over a month and now she's in a new foster home! I can't wait to hear about her journey with her new foster and hopefully she'll get adopted very very soon.. here are some pictures of her.

I had my "switch off" for Bebe last night. I met with S, another foster parent, and he traded me off Fiona. A loving 8 year old schnauzer/poodle mix that was a stray. She's extremely emaciated so I'm going to do my best to fatten her up! She transitioned into my home as easy as pie! The dogs took to her immediately, Jameson even started playing with her and Fiona started playing back!! I guess it's the irish name, she fits in very well in this irish clan. I've only gotten to know her for a few hours but I definitely am loving her presence here. I'll take pictures throughout the day and I'll post them but here were her pictures from waggytails!
